Josh Ice

Josh IceBoard Member

Josh Ice is currently Director of Operations with Encompass Health Solutions. Prior, Josh has held the positions of manager of Clinic Operations with Affinity Medical Group (now Ascension Medical Group) and most recently was Director of Primary Care for 9 Ascension clinics.

Josh attended Bethel University in St. Paul, MN where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Medicine. In 2009, he completed his Masters in Healthcare Administration.
Mark Byrom

Mark Byrom Board Member-Secretary

Mark has over twenty years of ministry experience with The Alliance. This includes three years serving as a mission/college pastor in Seattle, which was good preparation for nearly fourteen years of ministry in the coffee culture of Bosnia Herzegovina as an international workers with The Alliance. Years of experience ministering in Europe, traveling the world, and being a mission mobilizer with The Alliance in churches all around the States contribute to Mark’s excitement to be networking and developing international ministry at Alliance Church – Appleton. He has a focus toward connecting how the global relates into the local in nearly all areas of ministry in the church. This is an Acts 1:8 mentality, which Mark pursues with a passion.

Mark and his wife Debbie have three girls: Kaelah, Jocelyn, and Laura. As an internationally traveled family, they enjoy visiting new places and meeting new people. Yet, a nice evening at home is a welcomed respite. Mark enjoys a good movie or reading an interesting novel. When he gets a chance he likes hiking and getting out to draw or do a photoshoot in a beautiful place. Most of all, he likes a long cup of coffee in an interesting cafe with a friend.
Dr. Robert Makeever

Dr. Robert Makeever Board Member

Dr. Makeever has been a practicing family practice physician for twenty-five years. He served for four years as a physician for the US Air Force in Cheyenne, WY, and since 1994 has been practicing in Appleton, WI. His practice has included the full range of family medicine – pediatric and adolescent medicine, obstetrics, adult and geriatric medicine, and sports medicine as volunteer team physician for Appleton North HS.

Prior to entering the medical field, Dr. Makeever received a degree in instrumental music education from the University of Illinois and taught high school instrumental music for two years in Olney, IL.

In addition to his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Makeever received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1987, and completed a residency in family practice at St. Paul-Ramsey Family Practice Residency in 1990.
Albert Selker

Albert Selker Board Member-President

Albert Selker has executive management experience. He served as an Executive Director at Appleton Papers (Appvion), as the General Manager of US Lubricants, an operating division of US Venture in Appleton, WI, and currently as President of 5 locations of Home Instead Senior Care, based out of Green Bay.

He serves on other nonprofit and for profit Boards.

Albert has a B.S. in Mineral Economics from Penn State University and a Certificate in Business Management from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.
Christine Cousineau

Christine Cousineau Board Member-Treasurer

Christine Cousineau serves as Thrivent Federal Credit Union’s Chief Operating Officer. She is responsible for working with the board and the leadership team on the development and execution of the credit union’s run the business strategy to achieve defined member and profitability results. Christine joined AAL in 1998 and played integral strategy and integration roles in the merger of AAL and Lutheran Brotherhood to Thrivent Financial.

Before joining Thrivent Financial, Christine worked in accounting, finance, human resource, audit and strategic planning roles for Secura Insurance, Grant Thornton and Spurlock, Runyan, Miller & Associates.

Christine was born and raised in Shawano, WI. She attended the University in Wisconsin-Madison and earned a bachelor of business administration degree followed by an accounting CPA designation. She also has her Series 7 securities license.

Christine and her husband, Bill, have three children and live in Kaukauna. Her family enjoys skiing (water and snow), boating, snowmobiling, golfing and attending Packer & Badger games and cheering on Sam’s high school sports teams. They are members of Appleton Alliance Church in Appleton, WI.
Sally Bowers

Sally Bowers Board Member

Sally Bowers spent 25 years as an educational leader. She served kindergarten through 12th grade students, their teachers and their families until her retirement in June of 2020. Her leadership focused on social and emotional learning, effective instructional strategies, community collaboration, and strategic planning. Sally also served as a leader in human resource management.

Prior to joining education, Sally was a licensing coordinator in the compliance department at Thrivent.

Sally was born and raised in Wabeno, WI and is number five of nine in the sibling line up. She attended the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and earned a bachelor’s degree in education with math and English language arts minors. She attended Cardinal Stritch University and earned her master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction.

Sally and her husband, Ken, have three children, Ryan (32), Amanda (30), and Jonah (25). They have three grandchildren, Piper (5), Rosalie (3) and Mila (1). Ken and Sally enjoy hanging out with their many family members watching sporting events, golfing, boating, ice fishing and exercising.
Eric Welhouse

Eric Welhouse Board Member

Eric Welhouse is the Founder of ECHOE Enterprises, a Wisconsin based commercial real estate development firm that focuses on enhancing communities through the repurposing of existing buildings and new construction.

His background includes twenty-plus years in the construction management industry. Before founding ECHOE Enterprises, Eric served in an executive leadership role at Catalyst Construction. There, his leadership contributed to the five-fold, sustainable growth of the organization, in just eight years.

Eric models his passion for serving others through his service in the community. He currently serves on the Governing Board of Appleton Alliance Church, where he and his family are members and enjoy serving in the various ministries.

Eric and his wife Mindy are blessed with four children and enjoy traveling, spending quality time together, and the fantastic Wisconsin summers.

Scott DeckerBoard Member

Scott has extensive executive management experience in a healthcare setting that he has gained over the past 30 years, not to mention his training and experience as a registered nurse. He was previously a board member here at the Hope Clinic, and following a two year break he returned to continue helping the Hope Clinic achieve its mission of providing healthcare to the Fox Valley Region.

Scott was previously the Vice President of Safety and Quality at ThedaCare, and more recently a consultant at AboutHealth. He received his undergraduate degree from Oral Roberts University, and his masters in Health Care Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He has a wife and three sons. Now, when he isn’t supporting the Hope Clinic to the best of his abilities, he is enjoying his retired life in beautiful Montana.
Sarah Schneider

Sarah SchneiderBoard Member

Sarah Schneider has served as Mobility Manager at Valley Transit since 2019. In her role she is responsible for helping aging adults, people living with disabilities and disadvantaged populations overcome barriers to transportation. Sarah also works collaboratively with non-profits, employers, human services agencies, senior communities, schools, and other transportation providers to identify and overcome transportation barriers that prohibit their respective clients, employees, residents, patients, students, refugees/newcomers, and non-English speaking populations to access the important programming and essential services they offer.

Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in business & marketing from Lakeland University and has her MBA from Concordia University Wisconsin and her 20+ years of professional work experience has been comprised primarily of business development and strategic marketing roles across a diverse variety of for- and non-profit industry sectors. Sarah enjoys developing people and leading high-performing teams that ultimately achieve organizational growth goals and deliver quantifiable results. Sarah attributes her strong work ethic to growing up on a dairy farm near Marinette, Wisconsin.

Sarah is passionate about reading, studying and teaching God’s Word. She loves disciplining women of all ages through one-to-one mentoring, co-leading a women’s support group and teaching evening Bible studies at Alliance Church – Appleton. She also volunteers on the board of Fox Valley Jail Ministries and has been one-to-one Bible mentor to incarcerated women since 2016. Sarah and her husband, Bleau, moved to the area in 2002 and are proud to have raised their two (adult) daughter’s in the Appleton area. They currently reside in Freedom with their 4 dogs; Joey, Penny, Lulu and Lloyd.
Vince Gallucci

Vince Gallucci Board Member

Vince Gallucci is an advisor and director of Executive Resources Strategies, an operational consulting company working with family businesses who are handing off the leadership role from one generation to the next. Having nearly 20 years of executive leadership experience across several industries, he is well equipped to provide a very broad perspective to the Hope Clinic.

Vince Gallucci worked with Constellation, a Minnesota-based Medical Professional Liability Insurance (MPLI) company, engaging and strategizing with customers at the senior executive leadership level. Having led national discussions on health care branding, digital marketing strategies and employee engagement satisfaction in his previous leadership roles, he is well equipped to provide very broad perspective to the Hope Clinic.

Prior to Constellation, Vince was the Chief Marketing Officer for Ascension Medical Group at the national level, where he provided marketing, public relations and digital marketing leadership across 22 states for nearly 7,000 employed clinicians, 100 hospitals and 1,100 clinic locations. Vince also held several executive health care leadership roles across Wisconsin as Chief Administrative Officer for Ascension Wisconsin. Before his roles in health care, Vince was the President and General Manager for Lands’ End Business Outfitters – a division of Lands’ End.

Vince is excited about joining the Hope Clinic board and its mission to serve those across the community. Vince and his wife Amy have been members of Appleton Alliance Church for many years and enjoy everything the Church offers to their family.
