Throughout his career, he has helped organizations grow their impact, strengthen relationships with donors and community partners, and build sustainable strategies to advance their missions. Christian is passionate about bringing people together around a shared purpose and believes deeply in the power of relationships, generosity, and service to transform communities.“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as Executive Director of Hope Clinic. I believe God has called me to this role and to this ministry at a very special time. I look forward to serving alongside our staff, volunteers, Board, donors, churches, and community partners as we continue providing hope and compassionate care to those who need it most.”
Christian and his wife, Tiffany, are proud to call Northeast Wisconsin home and are blessed to be raising their daughter, Ella Kate, here. Outside of work, Christian enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, and serving in his church and community.

He previously served in a variety of leadership positions including roles in community health, business development, strategic planning, and advocacy. David is known for his results-driven approach, collaborative style and commitment to ethical standards. He has been an active community advocate, is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and serves on several public and private boards. David has a passion for connecting groups to serve their communities and make them better.“I am humbled and honored to be given this opportunity to serve the Hope Clinic, where I believe God has called me to lead. I look forward to meeting many of the patients, volunteers, community members and donors who support the mission of the Hope Clinic.”
David is blessed to be married to his wife, Jennifer, for nearly 25 years, and they are the proud parents of four children: Caleb, Sophie, Ethan, and Grace.

He served for four years as a physician for the US Air Force in Cheyenne, WY, and since 1994 has been practicing in […]Dr. Makeever has been a practicing family practice physician for twenty-five years. He served for four years as a physician for the US Air Force in Cheyenne, WY, and since 1994 has been practicing in Appleton, WI. His practice has included the full range of family medicine – pediatric and adolescent medicine, obstetrics, adult and geriatric medicine, and sports medicine as volunteer team physician for Appleton North HS.Prior to entering the medical field, Dr. Makeever received a degree in instrumental music education from the University of Illinois and taught high school instrumental music for two years in Olney, IL.
In addition to his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Makeever received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1987, and completed a residency in family practice at St. Paul-Ramsey Family Practice Residency in 1990.

Josh IceBoard Member
Josh Ice is currently Director of Operations with Encompass Health Solutions. Prior, Josh has held the positions of manager of Clinic Operations with Affinity Medical Group (now Ascension Medical Group) and most recently was Director of Primary Care for 9 Ascension clinics.Josh attended Bethel University in St. Paul, MN where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Medicine. In 2009, he completed his Masters in Healthcare Administration.

Albert SelkerBoard Member – President
Albert Selker has executive management experience. He served as an Executive Director at Appleton Papers (Appvion), as the General Manager of US Lubricants, an operating division of US Venture in Appleton, WI, as the President of We Care Senior Care, Inc. which owned and operated 15 locations of Home Instead, based out of Green Bay. Albert is currently serving as Director of Operations for Alliance Church in Appleton, WI.Albert has a B.S. in Mineral Economics from Penn State University and a Certificate in Business Management from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.

Mark Byrom Board Member
Mark has spent more than 30 years in ministry, and fourteen of those years were in Bosnia-Herzegovina as an international worker with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. Years of ministry in Europe, traveling the world, and being a mission-mobilizer with the denomination gave Mark a focus on connecting the global church with the local church. Mark also completed his studies for his Doctorate of Ministry in 2017, further equipping him to lead passionately.As the Executive Pastor of Outreach and Care, which incudes assisting Alliance Church as we partner globally with believers and churches on five different continents. It’s an Acts 1:8 mentality, which he pursues with passion. Mark also has oversight for Special Needs ministry, Community Care, and aspects of Congregational Care.
Mark and his wife, Debbie, have raised three young women and now navigate the empty-nesting lifestyle together. When he gets a chance, he enjoys hiking in beautiful locations and visiting new places around the globe. Mark enjoys hanging with friends over a great cup of coffee along with reading and seeing a great movie.

Christine Cousineau Board Member-Treasurer
Christine Cousineau is the SVP, CFO & Treasurer for SECURA Insurance, a highly rated mutual property and casualty insurance company operating across 13 states. In her role, Christine oversees all finance functions and leads the company’s Enterprise Risk Management Program. As a key member of the executive team, she plays a crucial role in developing and executing corporate strategy.Before joining SECURA, Christine had various leadership positions at Thrivent Financial, including serving as the CEO of Thrivent Credit Union. Her career began in public accounting, providing her with a strong foundation for financial management.
Christine earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a CPA designation.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Christine is actively involved in her community. She serves on the board of directors for the Hope Clinic & Care Center and the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. Christine and her husband Bill reside in Kaukauna, WI and have three children. They are members of Appleton Alliance Church in Appleton, WI.

Sally Bowers Board Member-Secretary
Sally Bowers spent 25 years as an educational leader. She served kindergarten through 12th grade students, their teachers and their families until her retirement in June of 2020. Her leadership focused on social and emotional learning, effective instructional strategies, community collaboration, and strategic planning. Sally also served as a leader in human resource management.Prior to joining education, Sally was a licensing coordinator in the compliance department at Thrivent.
Sally was born and raised in Wabeno, WI and is number five of nine in the sibling line up. She attended the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and earned a bachelor’s degree in education with math and English language arts minors. She attended Cardinal Stritch University and earned her master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction.
Sally and her husband, Ken, have three children, Ryan (32), Amanda (30), and Jonah (25). They have three grandchildren, Piper (5), Rosalie (3) and Mila (1). Ken and Sally enjoy hanging out with their many family members watching sporting events, golfing, boating, ice fishing and exercising.

Eric Welhouse Board Member
Eric Welhouse is the Founder of ECHOE Enterprises, a Wisconsin based commercial real estate development firm that focuses on enhancing communities through the repurposing of existing buildings and new construction.His background includes twenty-plus years in the construction management industry. Before founding ECHOE Enterprises, Eric served in an executive leadership role at Catalyst Construction. There, his leadership contributed to the five-fold, sustainable growth of the organization, in just eight years.
Eric models his passion for serving others through his service in the community. He currently serves on the Governing Board of Appleton Alliance Church, where he and his family are members and enjoy serving in the various ministries.
Eric and his wife Mindy are blessed with four children and enjoy traveling, spending quality time together, and the fantastic Wisconsin summers.

Sarah SchneiderBoard Member
Sarah Schneider has served as Mobility Manager at Valley Transit since 2019. In her role she is responsible for helping aging adults, people living with disabilities and disadvantaged populations overcome barriers to transportation. Sarah also works collaboratively with non-profits, employers, human services agencies, senior communities, schools, and other transportation providers to identify and overcome transportation barriers that prohibit their respective clients, employees, residents, patients, students, refugees/newcomers, and non-English speaking populations to access the important programming and essential services they offer.Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in business & marketing from Lakeland University and has her MBA from Concordia University Wisconsin and her 20+ years of professional work experience has been comprised primarily of business development and strategic marketing roles across a diverse variety of for- and non-profit industry sectors. Sarah enjoys developing people and leading high-performing teams that ultimately achieve organizational growth goals and deliver quantifiable results. Sarah attributes her strong work ethic to growing up on a dairy farm near Marinette, Wisconsin.
Sarah is passionate about reading, studying and teaching God’s Word. She loves disciplining women of all ages through one-to-one mentoring, co-leading a women’s support group and teaching evening Bible studies at Alliance Church – Appleton. She also volunteers on the board of Fox Valley Jail Ministries and has been one-to-one Bible mentor to incarcerated women since 2016. Sarah and her husband, Bleau, moved to the area in 2002 and are proud to have raised their two (adult) daughter’s in the Appleton area. They currently reside in Freedom with their 4 dogs; Joey, Penny, Lulu and Lloyd.
